In elementary school, being called “weird” is usually seen as a form of bullying. But when we live in an age dominated by a lack of meaning and peace, maybe we all need to be just a little bit… well weird. Monks’ system of life is certainly “weird,” but this is precisely the reason they also experience an uncommon level of peaceful being and purposeful doing. If we want to experience the same, we need to get comfortable with living differently than those around us. We have to get comfortable with being “weird.”
THIS WEEK: What is something you know in your heart you should do, but aren’t because of how other people will view it? How is your desire to fit in, holding you back from the next step on your path to full(er) living?
All the best,
Steve Lawson - Monk Manual Founder
