A Time for Personal Honesty

One of the reasons I’m such a big fan of reflecting at the end of the day, is because it’s at the end of our day that we tend to be the most honest with ourselves. As everything settles down, and we are alone with ourselves having spent our energy on the day’s labor, we find that we are naturally disposed to greater levels of personal truth.

The same movement towards honesty can occur as we approach the end of each year.

While December often is a period of frenetic busyness, it can just as well be a period of pause and reflection amidst the hustle bustle of external action.

If you are able - mark this month as a time for personal honesty as you approach the new year. You won’t regret it.

THIS WEEK: Each week leading up to the end of the year answer this simple question… “What is it that a REALLY want, right now?” Write down your response in a journal or your Monk Manual. As you go from week to week challenge yourself to go a bit deeper each time. Get honest and search for what it is you really want underneath the surface level want. If you can discover this root want - it will set you up for unprecedented levels of growth in the coming year.

All the best,

Steve Lawson - Monk Manual Founder
