The hard thing about balance is if we really want it, we have to make difficult decisions. If you imagine a balanced scale with one side of the scale outweighing the other, there are only two ways to bring the scale back to equilibrium. You can either take something away from the side that is heavy or add something to the side that is light. It works the same way in our lives. The first step is to realize that an area of our life is out of balance. The second is to determine what practices/behaviors we need to add to our daily rhythm, or what practices/behaviors we need to take away. If you want to recover a sense of balance, it doesn’t happen in your head - it happens in your life and as such requires action.
THIS WEEK: What’s an area of your life where you have fallen out of balance? What is one behavior/practice you can take away or add to help you return to a healthier equilibrium?
