Begin Anew

What changes when the clock strikes midnight and we welcome in a new year? Effectively nothing really. We are still the same people, living in the same world, with the same challenges and growth opportunities. New Years simply presents us with the reminder that there is always the potential for a new beginning, and that at any time we can choose a fresh start. Change occurs when we actualize this potential and make the decision to intentionally approach things differently. Rather than get overwhelmed by all the things we could change, a good place to start is by reengineering how we prepare for the day. How we begin our day sets the tone and trajectory for our daily life. When we recognize that every new day presents us with the same fresh start as every new year, we can learn to treat it as our habitual time of beginning anew.

THIS WEEK: Spend some time outlining a new morning routine. Make sure to include daily practices and habits that will provide you with the energy, inspiration, and clarity necessary to accomplish your most important work (all three are essential). Pay particular attention to the ordering of your routine so that you can establish a sense of flow from the moment you wake up.

All the best,
