Increased information, and increased experience, do not necessarily equate to increased wisdom. There is a massive gap between knowledge and understanding, and if we want to simplify our lives we need to get remarkably clear about what is important and what is not. The only way to do this is to slow down and look at the patterns of one’s life and the world around us. By zooming out - we come to a greater understanding of reality, including the circumstances of our life and the world around us. Often the reason life feels so complicated is because we haven’t yet taken a step back to reflect on what is really going on.
THIS WEEK: What is your relationship to information? Do you spend as much time integrating and understanding the deeper implications of the data points around you - or does your consumption outpace your capacity to integrate understanding? In what ways may you be able to decrease the volume of information you take in, so that you can have the space and solitude to arrive at greater clarity around the things that matter most?
All the best,
