While it can be uncomfortable to think about, it’s important to recognize that others already have intentions for you. Bosses want you to be a good employee. Your community wants you to be a dutiful, engaged citizen. Corporations want you to be a good consumer. But what do you want for yourself? Unless one becomes clear about the intentions they have for their own life, they will undoubtedly build a life that is a reaction to the intentions others have for them. Living from your own intentions doesn’t mean you stop being generous, it simply instead means you give from a sense of personal purpose rather than the purposes others have for you.
THIS WEEK: Who is the one person you seek to impress most? It could be someone in your life now, or even someone from your past that you are still seeking quiet approval from. How has this desire for approval shaped your past decisions? How is it currently shaping your decisions, habits, and goals?
All the best,
