Transformation Comes From Letting Go

Often our identities are closely intertwined with the things we do. When we change and grow, it’s not only our behaviors that are challenged - but our identity itself. The process of growth is not first and foremost about habits, discipline, or routine - but rather adopting the honesty and courage necessary to let go of the parts of ourselves that were never actually us to begin with. This is a surprisingly difficult and painful process, much harder than any cold shower, intermittent fast, or 5am wake-up call. Transformation comes primarily from letting go, not building up.

THIS WEEK: As you prepare to adopt changes - what are some things you want to let go of? It could be an aspect of a relationship, an attachment to some particular goal, or a need for validation in a particular area of your life. Consider what practical steps you can make to let go of these attachments.

Letting go can be hard, but unless we let go, we find ourselves stuck spending our energy on the things that don’t truly serve us.

All the best,
