Everything about a monk’s life is intentional. The time they wake up, the nature of their meals, the structure of their prayer or meditation, the design of their environment, the style of their clothing. Our lives in the world often lack this same intentionality - but intentionality is possible for us, even in the busiest of circumstances. To grow in intentionality we have to get really good at asking questions, specifically “why” questions. When we understand our end goals and clarify the purpose of a particular action, we can work to bring our action, lifestyle, and routines into alignment with these goals.
THIS WEEK: Do an inventory of your morning habits. Why do you do each of these habits? Might it be time to delete some? Might it be time to add some in? How can you use your mornings to better support your life goals?
